Community is important, especially online. That is why Facebook is releasing a new way to stay connected to yours called – Messenger Rooms.

Similar to a conference call, only virtual, you can create a room and invite anyone to join. 

Here’s the latest information released about Facebook’s new feature:

What is Facebook’s Messenger Rooms? 

Think of it as a virtual conference call. In his live address, Mark Zuckerberg stated that he wanted to create a tool that would bring more people together despite social distancing. His answer: Messenger Rooms.

If you are thinking this sounds a lot like Zoom. You are spot on!

Messenger Rooms is Facebook’s version of video conferencing where users can host a video call with up to 50 people at one time with no time restrictions.
When you create a Messenger room, your friends’ will see a notification and they can join the call. Even better, you can even invite your Instagram followers and contacts via WhatsApp!

To make it even easier to bring people together, Messenger Rooms do not require a user to have a Facebook or Instagram profile to use.

How to Use Facebook Messenger Rooms

Zuckerberg explained that this new feature will roll out to some countries now and will continue to expand to everyone in the coming weeks.

In the live, he further added that you can connect your Messenger Rooms to a Facebook Live Event and even charge for access making it a much welcomed added bonus for small businesses.
